2nd Season of “The Best of All” commissioned by Reshet

Follows success of first season which increased the time slot average by 147%* in the sought-after 12-17 year old target audience”


Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that the Reshet network in Israel has commissioned a second season of the shiny floor gameshow “The Best of All”. The show is developed in cooperation with Abot Hameiri Productions and distributed by Dori Media. The second season will be produced in H1 2017 as part of a hub production with other European territories.


"The Best of All" currently airs on Reshet’s Channel 2 on Friday night in the prime-time slot and since its launch has increased ratings with Reshet’s target younger audience. For the audience aged between 12-17 years old ratings for the slot increased by 147%* and for the 18-24 age range by 65.4%*.


“The Best of All” gameshow tests the theory that a crowd of people will answer a question correctly more often than an individual, and even an expert. This show pits hundreds of people against individuals answering visual questions for money.

New crime drama “Dumb” is among the new titles Dori Media will present at Discop 2016. The show follows a frustrated and stoned 30 year old actress “you can’t help but love” (“Ynet”) who shuns the limelight in order to work as an undercover cop by impersonating a high school student. Her aim is to help her ex-boyfriend, who has been arrested and charged with drug dealing. “Dumb” has already received glowing reviews from top publications. “Haaretz” noted its “excellent acting” calling it “original television”, whilst “Israel Today” thought it was “absolutely fabulous”.

 

The Shiny Floor Game show “The Best of All”, produced by Abot Hameiri, to be aired on the leading Israel channel, Channel 2 (Reshet) this month. A crime drama about a 30 year old frustrated and stoned actress who is stuck with the body and appearance of a teenager and hates it. She sees herself as dumb, leading a mundane life, without friends or dreams. All she has is her boyfriend, who later dumps her and gets arrested for dealing drugs. Determined to save him, she joins the police as an undercover agent posing as a high-school senior class student. Blinded by love and power, she soon crosses the line becoming the new target of investigation. In way over her head, playing the role of her life, she realizes for the first time that she is not, in fact, dumb.

Theory states that the average of the answers from a large audience to a question will be a more precise evaluation than any one opinion, even that of a professional. “The Best of All”, a new shiny floor game show, is there to find out if the "Wisdom of the Crowd" theory really works. How many people make a "crowd"? It depends... There is no one answer... In “The Best of All”, a large group of people compete against individual studio participants. All the questions in the game are amusing visual questions (video segments), questions with a WOW factor, questions that are fun to watch even if you’re not participating in the game.

A hilarious sitcom, a peek into the life of stand-up comedian, Mickey, just before his wedding. Everyone, his grandmother, his parents, and especially his bride get swept up into planning an event with a major budget and many guests. In between scenes we see parts of Mickey’s stand-up in front of a live audience and hear his own point of view about how his relationship has changed as the big day approaches. We see him turn his personal conflicts into jokes for the audience, as he tries to find the silver lining in all this. Season 2 already commissioned.

 

El Marginal – Crime Drama (13X45min)

The series focuses on the story of Miguel Dimarco, an ex-cop who enters the San Onofre prison under a false identity as a convict. His mission is to infiltrate a gang of prisoners who have kidnapped the daughter of a prominent judge. Miguel must discover the whereabouts of the girl and help set her free. He meets the objective but someone betrays him, leaving him behind bars with no witnesses who know his true identity. Miguel will soon realize that the only way to save his life and recover his identity is to escape with the help of an unexpected ally, Anna, a social worker who works in the prison. Dori Media sells full season of “Esperanza Mia” to MTV Latin America for Southern Cone countries

Esperanza Mia has now been sold to 11 countries, matching its critical success having been nominated for 11 awards at Martin Fierro 2016

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has sold the full season of its romantic comedy “Esperanza Mia (My Lovely Hope)” to air on MTV Latin America in the Southern Cone territories. The series is expected to be launched on the channel in November.

“Esperanza Mia” is a co-production from Dori Media International and Pol-Ka Producciones, and has recently been sold to a range of countries including: Mexico, Poland, Spain, Indonesia, Israel, Bolivia, Vietnam, Slovenia, Hungary, Panama and Ecuador.

“Esperanza Mia” is a romantic comedy about the forbidden love between Julia (Hope) and Tomas. Julia’s mother dies from a fatal illness contracted due to pollution in the factory where she worked. On her deathbed, she asks Julia to hunt down the owner of the factory, but Julia is persecuted while trying to do just that. She escapes to Buenos Aires and takes shelter in a convent, pretending to be a nun named Hope. There she meets a priest named Tomas and love between them grows. Unfortunately, Julia does not know that Tomas is none other than the brother of the man responsible for her mother's death, the man she swore to bring to justice.

The show recently achieved excellent ratings in Spain, where it is aired on Atresmedia’s Channel Nova. The series secured a 50% greater audience share than the channel’s average since first being broadcast in December 2015.

Dori Media sells “El Marginal” to France’s first pay TV channel CANAL+

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has signed an agreement with French premium pay TV channel CANAL+ for the Séries Mania 2016 Grand Prix winning crime drama “El Marginal” (The Outsider). The series is a co-production from Underground Producciones and TV Publica, created by Sebastian Ortega with exclusive worldwide distribution by Dori Media Group. The sale to CANAL+ represents the second sale of the series following a sale to Latin America, the UK, Spain, Portugal and the US, and it will go on air soon.

Against tough competition in the timeslot from other broadcasters, the show had a 13.4 % market share for the 14-49 year old audience bracket with audience figures above the channel average. The show was also a big hit on social media, trending on Twitter in Germany.

Dori Media’s “Power Couple” format sold to RTL in Germany

Sale to RTL follows the major ratings success in Brazil and Slovenia of the reality format owned and created by Abot Hameiri

The show will be launched as “Das Sommerhaus der Stars – Kampf der Promipaare”


Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that the popular “Power Couple” reality show format, created by Abot Hameiri has been sold to Germany, where it will be produced locally by Seapoint Productions GmbH & Co. KG and will be aired on RTL in the summer.

The show will be called “Das Sommerhaus der Stars – Kampf der Promipaare” and it will be launched on July 13th on an 8:15 PM primetime slot. The series will be made up of 4 episodes each lasting 90 minutes, where 7 celebrity couples will battle each other for big prizes.

Seapoint, together with its sister company Bantry Bay, is part of a group of independent German production companies, backed by German producer-distributor Beta Film. Bantry Bay and Seapoint work for all TV broadcasters and media platforms in the market place. Recent Seapoint productions include the German version of “Dancing With the Stars” – “Let’s Dance”  and “Verdachtsfälle Spezial – Wache Köln-Ost” for RTL.

Dori Media signs cooperation agreement with Underground Producciones and TV Publica to distribute “El Marginal”

“El Marginal” is the recent Grand Prix Winner at the 2016 Séries Mania Festival in Paris

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has signed an agreement with Underground and TV Publica to distribute the weekly crime drama series “El Marginal” (The Marginal). Dori Media Group have previously partnered with Underground for the production of mega-hit show “Lalola”, which has now been sold to over 120 territories, having been produced by Dori Media Contenidos, and based on an original idea by Sebastian Ortega for Underground. DMG has previously worked with TV Publica on the co-production of 3 seasons of “En Terapia” (In Treatment), which was hugely successful in Argentina.

“El Marginal” focuses on the story of Miguel Dimarco, an ex-cop who enters the San Onofre prison under a false identity as a convict. His mission is to infiltrate a gang of prisoners who have kidnapped the daughter of a prominent judge. Miguel must discover the whereabouts of the girl and help set her free. He meets the objective but someone betrays him, leaving him behind bars with no witnesses who know his true identity. Miguel will soon realize that the only way to save his life and recover his identity is to escape with the help of an unexpected ally, Anna, a social worker who works in the prison.

The series was the Grand Prix winner at the International Competition at the 2016 Séries Mania Festival in Paris.

Dori Media’s “Power Couple” format achieves ratings success in Brazil and Slovenia

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces the international ratings success achieved by Abot Hameiri’s popular “Power Couple” reality show format in Brazil and Slovenia. The debut show on Rede Record network in Brazil improved its timeslot ratings by 38%. Following the sale of the format in February this year to POPTV in Slovenia, the show also gained a 31% viewing share on the channel for the first three episodes.

“Power Couple”, created by Abot Hameiri, gives ten couples extreme challenges to test how well they really know each other. In this game, couples can convert the closeness of their relationships and their knowledge of each other into big cash prizes. The format has been taken to over 10 territories internationally including: Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, USA, China, India and more.

Dori Media sells the 7th format adaption of “Ciega a Citas” to Lithuania

Dori Media Group (“DMG”, “the Company”) announces that it has sold its hit romantic comedy format “Ciega a Citas (Blind Date)” to the TV3 channel in Lithuania, part of the Modern Times Group (MTG). TV3 will produce its own version of the show, which is slated to air in the second half of 2016. This will be the 7th version of the Argentinean format “Ciega a Citas” produced worldwide, following adaptations in Spain, Chile, Germany, Russia, Poland and China.

Modern Times Group is an international entertainment group, with operations spanning six continents including TV channels and online platforms, content production and distribution businesses, radio stations, multi-channel networks (MCN) and eSports. This is the first local adaptation of an Argentinean scripted show MTG have purchased, not only in Lithuania but in any territory in which MTG produces local programmes for its TV channels (Scandinavia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, the Baltic countries, Ghana and Tanzania).

“Ciega a Citas” tells the story of Lucía, a woman who overhears her mother making a bet with her younger sister that she won’t be able to bring a real boyfriend to her sister’s wedding. Lucía sets out to find a genuine loving boyfriend, knowing all too well that she has only 258 days at her disposal until her sister’s wedding day.
